The eyes of a child

It’s that time of year again….the ice cream truck is back.  Driving through neighborhoods on hot afternoons, playing really loud music to get kids all excited and running to the truck to get ice cream.  So, what do you think of that music.  Is it like nails on a chalkboard to you?  There are so many things to be annoyed by when it comes to the ice cream truck.  The music.  The fact that it comes around just before supper and spoils kid’s appetites.  Have you gotten stuck in traffic behind one?  And what about kids running out into the street to cross and get their ice cream?  It’s always easy to find things to be annoyed by.  I even heard about one parent that used to tell her kids that the music meant the truck was out of ice cream so they wouldn’t ask when they heard it.  But, that being said, I guess I’m a glass half full kind of person because no matter how annoying all that can be the smiles on the kid’s faces makes up for it all.  I love seeing how excited they are when they hear that music that others find annoying.  I love how happy they are with that ice cream cone that we see as spoiling dinner.  I think the world would be a much better place if we could look at some things through the eyes of a child.
