We found out about what happened in Vegas on Monday morning. We woke up to find out that a man decided to take the lives of innocent people who were enjoying a concert. Two days later, I still don’t know what to say. I don’t understand a lot of things these days….and this is one of them. How did he decide that it was OK for him to do that? I keep thinking about the fact that he was firing bullets at that crowd for between 9 and 11 minutes. That’s about 3 songs. Think about it when you are listening to Cat Country. 3 songs. Those poor people had no idea where the shots were even coming from and they were being fired on for that long. That would have felt like an eternity!! I can’t even imagine. Jason Aldean, who was on stage during the attack, had his pregnant wife with him at the show. His bus was riddled with bullet holes. I think he put it well in an Instagram post: “Something has changed in this country and in this world lately that is scary to see. This world is becoming the kind of place I am afraid to raise my children in.” He added, “at the end of the day we aren’t Democrats or Republicans, Whites or Blacks, Men or Women. We are all humans and we are all Americans and it’s time to start acting like it and stand together as ONE!”
