"Hard Boiled" was John Woo's final Hong Kong film before he moved onto Hollywood! Unfortunately I saw Woo's Hollywood films first. 1996's "Broken Arrow", "Face/Off", "Mission Impossible 2", etc. When I started really getting into cinema in the 2000's, I discovered "Hard Boiled"! Woo was really a fan of American action films & westerns and was quoted as saying he wanted to make: "A Hong Kong-style Dirty Harry police thriller"! I mean you have to see the approx. 45 minute hospital climax to see one of the most incredible and unforgettable action sequences ever filmed!

Every action movie fan should see this!
